PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) is a test that is specifically designed to detect the presence of genetic material in covid-19. This is the most effective way to confirm if a person is actively infected with the virus.

A PCR test is very sensitive when detecting the virus even in the early stages of infection. The test looks for a viral RNA (ribonucleic acid) which is present in the body before symptoms begin (high temperature, continuous cough, loss/change in sense of smell).

This type of testing for coronavirus is the best way of determining whether an individual has tested positive and helps airlines and other countries stop the spread. By following guidelines and taking this test you are helping combat the spread of covid-19 and keeping yourself and people safe.
