Mandatory Day 2

RETURNING FROM A NON-RED LIST COUNTRY: 

Double Vaccinated: 
·  If you are double vaccinated, you do not require a Pre-Arrival test when returning to the UK.  

· Book and pay for a Day 2 COVID-19 test – to be taken after arrival in England.

·  Complete a passenger locator form – to be completed in the 48 hours before you arrive in England.

Unvaccinated: 

· If you are not vaccinated, it is mandatory to arrange a Pre-Arrival test within 72 hours before travel to the UK. 

· Quarantine at home or in the place you are staying for 10 days.

· Day 2 & 8 tests are required for when you return to the UK – these must be booked before departure and boarding on travel to the UK. 

· Complete a passenger locator form – to be completed in the 48 hours before you arrive in England.

Day 5 Test to Release Scheme for Unvaccinated Individuals: 

The Government “test-to-release” scheme is designed to release travellers from post-travel quarantine safely and speedily, 5 days after arrival into England. You will be able to reduce your self-isolation period from 10 days to just 5 days, provided that you test negative. 

 

RETURNING FROM A RED LIST COUNTRY: 

Applies to all:  

· It is mandatory to arrange a Pre-arrival test within 72 hours before arriving in the UK. 

· Day 2 & 8 tests must be booked before arrival in the UK to then be completed after return. 

· 10-Day hotel quarantine is mandatory on return; this will be at a cost of £2,285.  

· You are required to quarantine for 10 days. 

 If you are in England for less than 10 days, you need to quarantine for the time you are here. You need to book day 2 and day 8 travel tests. You only need to take the tests if you are still in England.

Mandatory Day 2 & 8

From 4 am Monday 4 October 2021, the rules for international travel to England will change from the red, amber, green traffic light system to a single red list of countries and simplified travel measures for arrivals from the rest of the world. The rules for travel from countries and territories not on the red list will depend on your vaccination status.

If you arrive in England before 4 October, you must follow the current rules. This means you must book and take any COVID-19 tests you need and follow the quarantine rules that are in place at the time you arrive in England.
